For this week’s Reader Recommends we asked Adver readers where they would suggest going for breakfast after having a heavy night out.

1) Crumps Coffee Shop & Cafe

Swindon Advertiser:

One of the top recommendations was Crumps in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Rachel Sleem suggested the cafe and said: “They open really early – 7am or 7.30am depending on which day.

“Their opening times are perfect for breakfast, as most places don’t open until 8am or 9am, which is rubbish.

“Staff are super friendly and efficient, and their meat is tasty, but the best bit is their bread, especially with bacon inside. Prices are good too.”

Alongside a regular breakfast, the cafe also offers a vegetarian breakfast and pancakes – and if you’re too late, you can get brunch which can be taken away.

2) The Pantry

Swindon Advertiser:

Another recommendation was The Pantry.

Located on Wood Street in Old Town, this cafe was suggested by a few readers, with Nicola Bickell saying: “Oh my god, the best breakfast ever. Comes out fresh and piping hot.

“Cooked and served up very quickly and very reasonably priced. Plus they do them all day.”

On its Facebook page, The Pantry describes itself as old-fashioned home cooking with local ingredients and says: “Every dish, from a slice of toast to a hearty bowl of soup is freshly prepared daily.”

3) Blues Cafe

Swindon Advertiser:

When it comes to getting a hangover cure, Blues Cafe on Havelock Street in the town centre proved a popular choice.

Lyndsey Selby said: “They’ve been making the scrummiest breakfasts for 20 years now.”

Kay Craughwell added that the staff at the cafe are amazing.

According to TripAdvisor the cafe boasts a four-star review as well as favourable comments from its visitors.

It even has outside seating – if you’re willing to risk it in the winter.

The cafe is open at 7am six days of the week – perfect timing for a hangover feast.

4) The Butchers Cafe

Swindon Advertiser:

The Butchers Cafe on Gorse Hill was another popular pick.

On the Advertiser website, Pop Up Princess said: “£5.50, well worth the money and the sausages are simply the best, better than all the rest.”

Robstur added: “Butchers Cafe, now that’s a proper fry up.”

If you’re a late riser, then it this cafe might be best for you. It opens up at 9am, but don’t leave it too late as it does close at 3pm most days of the week.

Johnny Spesh added: “Best breakfast in Swindon.

“Can’t fault it, and reasonably priced.”

The cafe also boasts a 4.7-star rating on Google.

5) The Octagon

Swindon Advertiser:

THE Octagon, located by the bus station in the town centre, also made the list.

On the Adver website, Jon.Flitcroft said: “The octagon cafe Swindon town centre is good and they offer home delivery through Just Eat, which most don’t”

'LibP' added: “To be fair the Octagon is very underrated. The food is very good 'for the money'.” This cafe will help with the early risers as it opens the doors at 6am, remaining open until 5pm on most days.

It has a four-star rating on Google reviews and a 3.5 on TripAdvisor.

The cafe has been a family-run business for 30 years, offering not only breakfasts but also lunches and snacks.
