THE SON of a heroin addict’s decision to run drugs for the KP line was labelled stupid – by his own solicitor.

Kyle Parmenter, 22, of Willows Avenue, Pinehurst, delivered two wraps of crack cocaine and one of heroin to undercover officers in the John Street car park last August.

He did it just seven days after being dealt with by a judge for breaching an earlier court order.

Appearing before Swindon Crown Court on Friday morning, Parmenter pleaded guilty to two counts of supplying class A drugs.

Rob Ross, defending, said: “This was a young man who did something incredibly stupid. He’s not a class A drug user. He did it for a bit of money. Absolutely stupid.” It was a one-off.

Since the offence he had knuckled down, started volunteering and was now working in a pizza restaurant in Chippenham. It had at last given him a feeling of self-worth, Mr Ross said.

He added: “This is a young man who’s worth giving a chance to.”

Judge Jason Taylor QC acknowledged Parmenter had knuckled down but said he would be failing in his duty if he did not impose an immediate jail sentence.

Parmenter was sentenced to three years.
