A CIRENCESTER chippie has been named as winners in the first ever ITV Food and Drink Awards.
Aired on ITV1 at 10.10pm on Sunday, Malt and Anchor were named Britain’s Best Fish and Chip Shop at the awards filmed at Merchants Tayors Hall in London.
Hosted by Stephen Fry, the show was presented by Rick Stein, Andi Oliver Rosemary Shrager, Tom Read Wilson, Linda Robson and Jeni Barnet.
Dan Lafford, Malt and Anchor director said: "We are absolutely overjoyed to have been named Britain’s Best Fish and Chip Shop at the first ever ITV UK food awards.
"To see the lofty standards we find ourselves in the midst of and to have successfully scooped the win at an event of this prestige has made us enormously proud.
"We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our many loyal customers, without whom we would certainly not find ourselves in this position.
"Between this, and the recent launch of our new home delivery service we have kickstarted 2020 with a bang and couldn't be more excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for us!"
