Husband and wife fulfil their lifelong dental practice dream

Husband and wife team Salil and Ruchi Sood of Perfect 2Kr Consultants acquired Gorse Hill Dental Practice using a six-figure funding package from HSBC.

Mrs Sood will use her 18 years of dentistry experience in the UK and internationally for private and NHS practices to lead the surgery as head dentist.

Her husband Salil will manage the business operations side of things. The couple recruited two nurses, a receptionist and a practice manager as part of the takeover.

Ruchi Sood said: “It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to own a consultancy and, with the support of my HSBC relationship manager Mike Gill, I can become an independent practitioner.

"It's nice, though it does come with some challenges because when it's your own business, all the worries and stresses that come with it are yours too.

"We have plans to expand in the future if all goes well. Salil and I are hoping to put our own stamp on the dental practice and look forward to serving both existing and new customers in the Swindon community.”

Before becoming one of the dental practice’s new owners, Mrs Sood worked as associate dental surgeon at Euro Dental Clinic in Swindon.

Salil said: "While working there, she always thought about having her own setup and being her own boss, so I'm very proud that we've managed to achieve that.

"The previous dentist at this practice retired and was planning to give up the building so we moved in and redecorated, it was a great opportunity.

"This is a good start and we can build on it."
