Just six months after one gruelling election campaign Sarah Church will be going through another.
The former soldier, who stood for the Labour Party in South Swindon in the 2017 and 2019 general elections, is to stand for the Liden, Eldene and Park South seat on Swindon Borough Council.
The sitting councillor Fay Howard is standing down after 17 years in a Labour-dominated ward.
In a statement on her website Ms Church said: “It’s important that Liden, Eldene and Park South residents have a voice in the council chamber that will challenge the Tory administration when they waste taxpayers’ money and don’t deal with the issues they raise, such as the neglect of regular tree maintenance, the often dangerous nature of our potholed roads and patched-up pavements and the ongoing decline of the town centre. I promise to be that voice, alongside my Labour colleagues, to ensure that residents get the best service possible from the council.”
