LYDIARD Park Academy will close to most of the students in Years 8 and 9 as well as all of Year 12 on Thursday and Friday.

Headteacher Gary Pearson told parents: "Due to the number of staff who are now having to self-isolate, I am going to have to partially close the school for the rest of the week.

"Years 7, 10, 11 and 13 will be expected in and we will be operating a full timetable.

"In addition, parents with pupils in years 8 and 9 who work in the NHS, emergency services, or are care workers can also send their children into school.

"If this applies to you, please email Mr Dobbs DobbsC@lydiardparkacademy.org.uk so that we can ensure they are registered and supervised.

"We will be sending home any medication for pupils in these year groups in case of a full closure in the future.

"Children who receive free school meals can come to school at lunchtime to receive their meal but would then be expected to leave the site at 12.55pm. They do not need to be in uniform but need to sign in at main reception.

"Work will be set for pupils to do at home."
