A GORSE Hill man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder in connection with the Rodbourne hit-and-run.
Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning, Benajmin Danso-Obeng, 28, of Handel Street, spoke only to confirm his personal details.
He entered no plea to a charge of the attempted murder of a 26-year-old on Rodbourne Road on March 6.
Magistrates remanded him in custody. He is due before Bristol Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on April 20.

Chairman of the bench Gail Chilcott said: “For this charge of attempted murder you will be due at the Bristol Crown Court for a pre-trial preparation hearing on April 20. Until that time you are remanded in custody. Take him down.”
Danso-Obeng’s alleged victim was struck by a Nissan Juke outside The Dolphin pub. He was flown by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital, Bristol, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
Last week 20-year-old Mohammed Shajeed Ali of Warneford Close, Toothill, appeared before the justices charged with attempted murder. Ali is said to have been the driver of the Nissan.
Both men have been represented by Helen Ahmet. The prosecutor on both occasions was Keith Ballinger.
