A Swindon company has raised almost £2,000 for a mental health charity.

Outsourced contact centre Woven gave £1,881 to Swindon and Gloucester Mind as part of its annual charity activity.

The business is based at Arclight House in Peatmoor.

Each year, staff choose a charity to support – Mind is the latest to benefit from the scheme.

Team leader Sue Baker said: “I'm very proud to be part of the charity team and working in a company who supports the local community.

“This can include giving time to helping local charities or coming up with fundraising ideas and events throughout the year which involves everyone at the company..

“I know I can speak on behalf of the whole site when I say it’s hard work, but the brilliant team effort which keeps us motivated to fundraise.

“Plus, on the back of this, we feel so much satisfaction at the end of the year when the funds we raise are helping others less fortunate than us.”

Over the past 12 months, staff have used key dates in the calendar such as Valentine’s Day, Halloween and Easter to raise seasonal organise fundraising activities.

These have included bake sales, dress-down days and jewellery making.

Mind provides advice, support and services to help anyone experiencing mental health problems in the Swindon and Gloucestershire areas.

Senior lead for Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind Cary Bonner added: “It is great to have companies that fundraise for their local Mind charity.

“The money that was raised by Woven will help us continue with our work in the community.

"This charity helps a number of different people in the Swindon and Gloucestershire area.

“The money that has been raised will go into our Swindon service to continue delivering our community programme which allows members to access a number of different sessions based around the five way to wellbeing.

“We would like to thank Woven and all of its employees for the amazing work they are doing to give back to the community.”
