FIREFIGHTERS tackled a large blaze after hay bales were set alight in a field full of cows.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called out to the incident yesterday evening near Moulden Hill Country Park.
The land owner was notified and assisted the crews in putting out the blaze.
This happened shortly after police officers attended a small grass fire while on patrol at the country park.
Both fires are thought to have been started deliberately.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “Whilst dealing with this small fire, a member of the public notified officers of a bigger fire in a distant field.
“In this situation, it was lucky that officers came across these fires before either could spread to the nearby tree line.”
Anyone with information is urged to call Wiltshire Police on 101.
