A DISGUSTED mum says she was forced to throw away her Burger King meal after it arrived stone cold and topped with brown lettuce.

The 28-year-old from Abbey Meads, who did not wish to be named, shared her pictures with the Adver after she was left feeling badly let down by the takeaway giant, which has reopened its restaurant on Queens Drive.

She ordered Whopper meals for herself and her eight-year-old daughter via Deliveroo at 5pm on Monday.

The woman said: “I’ve never had a Burger King like that before.

“It arrived after about half an hour, which was pretty good, when it arrived I thought it would be hot, but I immediately could tell it was pretty much stone cold.

“I opened up the first burger to take the lettuce out for my daughter and then opened mine up and they were both the same.

“It was just brown, old lettuce. Then I looked at the chips and to be honest I thought they were microwaved.

“They were all stuck to each other and they were old.

“It was just horrendous. I haven’t eaten any of it, I just threw it all away.”

The customer paid £15 for the two meals.

She says she tried calling the Swindon branch multiple times but didn’t receive an answer, before complaining via the website.

A Burger King spokesperson said: “Food safety is a top priority for the Burger King brand.

“We are working directly with our franchisee, who independently owns and operates this location to ensure that these standards are maintained.”
