SWINDON Town can continue their upward trajectory and reach the Championship.

That is the view of defender Dion Conroy, who lifted the League Two trophy alongside his deputy Mathieu Baudry this morning.

Conroy, who was been with Town since 2017, has targeted back-to-back promotions after spending much of the title-winning campaign sidelined by a knee injury.

He said: "I think it’s been two out of three seasons where I’ve had big knee injuries so I’m just hopeful that next season I don’t have any more injuries and have a full season and see where it takes me from there.

“Obviously I would love to get this club into the Championship but we’ll just have to see what happens

“Hopefully I can make a full recovery and I should be ready for the start of next season, that’s the plan.”

The centre-back admitted today's ceremony was not the same without the fans to celebrate alongside.

He added: “It’s a bit strange but everyone’s excited and buzzing that we deserve to be crowned champions.

“We wish the fans were here and we could celebrate with them.

“It’s been a frustrating season for me with another injury but it’s part of the game.

“But we’re all excited and hopefully we can keep the squad together next season and be in League One where the club should be and push for the promotion play-offs.”
