DAVID Renard will be in the hot seat in front of Swindon Borough Council's scrutiny committee next week.

The council leader will be making his annual report to the committee at its meeting on Tuesday, July 7.

He can be expected to face questioning from the committee, other members of the council and possibly of the public.

Normally the report would have been made available on the borough council’s website a week before the meeting.

The committee will also quiz members of the cabinet if they are available about a number of decisions made at yesterday’s cabinet meeting.

They include decisions on the waste strategy for the coming year and whether to install additional safety measures at Hay Lane in West Swindon to protect children crossing the road.

Anyone who would like to be able to put a question to Coun Renard or the committee should write committeeservices@swindon.gov.uk by no later than 4pm tomorrow (July 3).

A link will be activated just before 6pm on Tuesday to allow members of the public to watch and listen and ask their questions. It will be available from the meeting’s agenda page on swindon.gov.uk
