A SERIES of indecent exposure reports have prompted police to step up patrols at Lydiard Park.
Plain-clothes officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team visited the park on July 9.
In a round-up of the team’s activity on the same day, Wiltshire Police said speed and seatbelt checks were completed on Queens Drive, Marlborough Road, Thamesdown Drive and Lady Lane with no tickets issued.
Two addresses that are subject to closure orders were visited to check that everything was in order and the occupants were safe
High visibility patrols sought out drug use in Stratton, Greenmeadow, Manchester Road and Broadgreen, with no major issues recorded.
Nine pubs and bars were checked to make sure Covid-19 government guidelines were being followed but no breaches were reported.
Sergeant Richard Tottle said: "The work highlighted here is mainly business as usual for the Swindon teams but it's good to report our results which were mainly positive on Thursday.
"Officers carried out seatbelt checks as part of the National Seatbelt Campaign and it was good to know that all motorists spotted were abiding by the law and wearing a belt.
"Our licensed premises checks across Swindon highlighted some excellent work by our pubs to enforce the latest government guidelines, including one way systems, clear signage, track and trace and signing in, screens, cleaning and the segregation of staff roles.
"Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams are out day and night patrolling the town making sure the public is protected and crime is being prevented but we need people's help too.
"If you spot an illegal activity or something suspicious please remember to contact your local officers on 101 or report crime via our website - www.wiltshire.police.uk"
