Cineworld has confirmed it is still planning to reopen both of its Swindon branches on Friday.
The company was originally due to start screening films again at Regent Circus and Shaw Ridge on July 10 but pushed back the plans after the release of Christopher Nolan blockbuster Tenet was delayed to August.
That same film has been delayed again, but this time indefinitely, as has Disney's Mulan remake.
But a spokesman for the company said: "I can confirm that Cineworld in Swindon will indeed open this Friday."
It is not yet known what films will be shown when the cinemas reopen. With new releases postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic some cinemas across the UK have been showing old films such as Jaws, Jurassic Park and Star Wars.
Customers are unable to book tickets for any films through Cineworld, apart from Michael Ball and Alfie Boe: Back Together on September 12.
