Traffic queuing on the M4 past J16 Picture: HIGHWAYS ENGLAND/M4 Motorway Cameras
There are five miles queues on the M4 eastbound.
It follows a vehicle fire earlier this morning on the motorway between junctions 15 and 16.
The vehicle was recovered at around 4am, but Highways England has shut lanes one and two in order to fix damage to the road.
#M4 Eastbound Jct 16 #RoyalWootonBassett to Jct 15 #Swindon. Lanes 1+2 remain closed due to carriageway damage following a vehicle fire earlier this morning. Congestion is building in the area. Please look at using alternative routes or delaying your journey if possible.
