Commonweal sixth former Sacha Marlow was one of the star performers at his school with an incredible A* A* A.

The result now means Sacha is heading to Oxford University to study Law.

He said: “I chose law specifically because of my law teacher at sixth form, Mr Parry, who really encouraged me to go down the route of a degree at Oxford.

“I had an invite to interview at the Mansfield College at Oxford University and then the past few months have been frustrating, frantic and really stressful but now today, with these grades, I was over the moon that it’s ended this way.”

Despite the result, Sacha said the lack of control was very frustrating.

He added: “Initially I was like ‘yes, no more exams’ but then it dawned on me.

“With an exam you have complete control over what happens in that exam. You know you’ve done well or poorly so when it comes to results day there isn’t much of a surprise.

“But this year has been completely out of control. It’s been like being on a ship out at sea with no oars and I’ve had no control over what was going to happen. That was the source of a lot of stress.”
