A group of eight men were seen after reports of a fight in Penhill.

Wiltshire Police said officers were called at around 4.40pm today to reports of a disorder.

A group of around eight men, some of them on foot and others on push bikes, were seen in the Grafton Road area.

"Officers attended the scene and conducted area searches but there has been no trace of the group mentioned. Enquiries are ongoing," a spokeswoman for the force said. Anyone with information is asked to call 101.

Police are stepping up patrols in Pinehurst and Penhill. It comes a week after a woman was slashed in the hand, leaving a life-changing injury. A man arrested in connection with the assault has been released on police bail with conditions banning him from returning to Penhill.

Insp Carly Nesbitt said: "We are aware of concerns from the local community and would like to reassure them that we are doing everything we can to keep them safe."
