This is the face of the man jailed for 11 and a half years this afternoon for the attempted murder of his partner.
Self-described prankster Edward Rudd had put a plastic bag over his partner’s head, then held a pillow over her face.

He was found guilty at Bristol Crown Court of attempted murder. He had earlier admitted possession of pepper spray.
Det Con Kerry Foster of Wiltshire Police said: “I welcome today’s result which reflects how serious this case was and how manipulative and violent this man was towards his partner.
“He tormented her physically and mentally as well as being totally coercive in his control of her.
“I know today’s sentencing will bring closure for all involved – especially the victim’s family.
“Remember, our message to any victim of domestic abuse is please report it to us or one of our partner agencies as soon as you can. If you are in an abusive relationship you are not alone and there is help available.”
