GORSE HILL: Ashwani Kumar, 56, of Cricklade Road, admitted being drunk and disorderly, making nuisance calls, disorderly behaviour, criminal damage and assault. He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on September 17. A pre-sentence report was ordered.

TOWN CENTRE: Michael McDonagh, 42, of Harding Street, admitted stealing a bicycle, shoplifting from Co-op, Poundland and Lidl, and breaching a closure order designed to prevent non-residents from going to the Great Western Hotel. He was bailed and a pre-sentence report ordered ahead of a hearing on September 25.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Kate Chapman, 52, of Downs View, admitted being in possession of a knife on the A419 on November 9 last year. She was bailed and will be sentenced on September 21. A pre-sentence report was ordered.

WROUGHTON: Cameron Gallagher, 18, of Moormead Road, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis by a police lab on January 22 after it was suspected he had committed a road traffic offence.

He was fined £200, banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £115 in costs and surcharge.

SWINDON: David Mills, 66, of Brook Close, Northleach, admitted stealing £101.08-worth of food from Asda. He was fined £200 and must pay £115 in costs and surcharge.

KINGSHILL: Jamie Osbourne, 30, of William Street, pleaded guilty to stealing £144-worth of groceries from Tesco on August 22 last year. He was fined £133 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Scott Elmore, 30, of Stockwell Court, Peatmoor, admitted assaulting a woman in Wootton Bassett on December 27 last year, assaulting the same woman on July 11 and damaging a door on July 22. Prosecutors offered no evidence on charges of criminal damage and another assault, which Elmore denied.

He was bailed for the sentencing hearing on September 24 at the Swindon Magistrates’ Court.

SWINDON: A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named as he is under 18, pleaded guilty to stealing an orange moped jointly with another youth on November 1 last year. He was given a three month youth referral order and his parents must pay a £21 victim surcharge.

SWINDON: Gary Dine, 45, of no fixed address, entered no pleas to an allegation he wounded a woman in Swindon between March 2 and 3. He was bailed to appear before the crown court on September 25 for a plea hearing.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Daniel Howlett, 33, of Archway Road, Highgate, pleaded guilty to assaulting women in Wootton Bassett on June 22 and damaging a door and Huawei tablet. He was bailed and will be sentenced on September 30.

CHISELDON: Michael Curtis, 40, of Windmill Piece, pleaded guilty to stealing a drill in September 2017. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £119 in costs and surcharge. An allegation that he had burgled a house in Belmont Crescent, Old Town, and stolen £3,000-worth of tools was discontinued by the Crown.

SHAW: A BMW driver was handed a suspended sentence after admitting dangerous driving.

Romas Taucenskas, 42, of Ridge Green, was behind the wheel of a BMW 330D and racing down Thamesdown Drive on February 3 this year when he hit a lamppost and drove off.

He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Magistrates sentenced him to 14 weeks imprisonment suspended for two years, saying the dangerous driving involved racing, he had caused damage to property and been aggressive to members of the public.

He must do 200 hours of unpaid work and pay £207 in costs and surcharge. He was banned from driving for two years.

SWINDON: A 17-year-old boy who hit his victim over the head with a hockey stick while a younger friend slashed him with a potato peeler has been given a three month curfew.

The boy, who cannot be named as he is under 18, admitted causing grievous bodily harm. He was given a year-long youth rehabilitation order and must pay a £22 victim surcharge.

NYTHE: Gary Walpole, 34, of Ashbury Avenue, admitted driving an Alfa Romeo carelessly on Marlborough Road and failing to stop for a police officer. He was fined £343, given seven penalty points and ordered to pay £119 in costs and surcharge. A charge of dangerous driving was withdrawn by the Crown.

CRICKLADE: Shane Allen, 31, of Cherry Tree Road, entered no plea to affray and possession of a baseball bat in Fullers Avenue, Cricklade, on August 10 last year. He was bailed to attend the crown court on October 2 for a plea hearing.

WALCOT: Amire Fereidouni, 41, of Queens Drive, admitted possession of a large kitchen knife in a public place. He was bailed and will be sentenced on September 23. A pre-sentence report was ordered.
