Work at Swindon Borough Council on financial inclusion – helping people to manage their finances and save for the future – will be discussed by councillors tonight.

Members of the borough council’s resources and corporate overview committee will hear a report on the work the council does to promote the Wiltshire & Swindon Credit Union, a save-as-you-earn scheme for council staff, and work to prevent illegal money-lending. The meeting starts at 6pm.

The meeting of the educational transport appeals sub-committee, where parents can argue against decisions on whether the council will pay for their children’s transport to school, will be held at 2pm today.

Most of the meeting will be held in private, but there is a link to allow attendance at the open part of the meeting.
