Swindon author and illustrator Steve Antony will be the guest of honour for Libraries Week, which starts today.
Steve is the patron of Swindon children’s libraries and the team will be celebrating and thanking him for the work he does with youngsters in the town.
A spokesman for the council-run libraries said: “We are so delighted to have Steve Antony as our children’s library patron and greatly appreciate all the fantastic work he does with Swindon libraries to encourage a love of reading and of libraries.
“During Libraries Week, we will be celebrating the time that Steve has generously given to Swindon libraries by showcasing some of the projects we have worked on together and by reading some of his brilliant books online.”
Steve, who was born and still lives in Swindon, has written and illustrated books such as the Mr Panda series, Unplugged, Green Lizards vs Red Rectangles and many more.
He has also illustrated the new Peter Bently adaptation of Ian Fleming’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
