An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of perverting the course of justice and stealing a PlayStation.
Anthony Broadbent, 33, of Dampiet House, Bridgewater, Somerset, had been due before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday to answer charges of perverting the course of justice and theft.
It is alleged he falsely claimed to have had his mobile phone stolen in June 2019 and, separately, in March 2020 stole another man’s PlayStation, games and controllers.
Broadbent did not turn up at court on Wednesday morning. Prosecutor Emma Charleton asked the judge for a warrant not backed for bail.
A warrant for Broadbent’s arrest was issued by District Judge Joanna Dickens.
