A FURTHER 450 people have tested positive for the coronavirus across East Lancashire.
Blackburn with Darwen, which currently has the third highest coronavirus infection rate in England, recorded a whopping 160 new cases in yesterday’s figures.
The borough has now seen a total of 8,250 cases since the start of the pandemic.
The second highest number of new cases came from Pendle. Where 94 people tested positive, bringing the area’s total to 3,933.
In Burnley, 67 new infections were discovered, meaning 3,841 people have tested positive for the virus.
Hyndburn’s cases rose by 53 to 3,070 while in Rossendale, 44 new cases brought the borough’s total to 2,704.
The Ribble Valley recorded the fewest new cases, with a new total of 1,759 after 32 infections were discovered.
