HONDA has stopped production at its Swindon plant because of a shortage of parts sure to Brexit stockpiling.

The BBC reported that its workers were told it is experiencing vessel delays and congestion at UK ports.

And as of today production will cease.

It is looking at other ways to get back up and running as soon as possible, including to try and fly parts in.

Problems with congestion have been caused in recent weeks at ports in Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway.

It’s believed this has been caused by companies trying to stockpile goods before the end of the Brexit transition period.

In a statement, Honda said: "Honda of the UK Manufacturing has confirmed to employees that production will not run on Wednesday 9 December due to transport-related parts delays."
