The festive period is officially over as waste collectors round up any remaining real Christmas trees.
Householders in Swindon have two weeks left to have their old trees picked up.
Crews from Swindon Borough Council will be collecting them until January 29 – but the authority will not take away artificial ones.
The council asks that all lights and decorations have been removed and that the tree can be safely lifted by two people.
If the tree is too big then the council asks for it to be cut it down to manageable pieces.
To ensure a tree is collected, people should make sure it is outside their house and clearly visible from the road.
The service is available to all and not just garden waste subscribers.
