Repairs to council houses in Swindon during Lockdown 3 have been reviewed.

Emergency or urgent repairs such as water leaks, blocked toilets, electrical faults or boiler breakdowns, should be reported on 01793 445503 and will be carried out as quickly as possible.

Teams from the housing department will continue to carry out most non-urgent repairs, but fixing internal problems concerning doors, misted double-glazed units, skirting boards, kitchen units and worktops will be put back until the end of lockdown

Essential safety checks will continue and where tenants are clinically extremely vulnerable, individual risk assessments will be made.

If tenants or any family members are showing symptoms of, or have tested positive for Covid-19, non-urgent repairs will not be carried out. For urgent repairs or emergencies, special precautionary measures will be put in place.

Tenants with appointments already booked for non-urgent repairs will be contacted by the council and asked to rebook.

If the tenant is able to rebook using the online portal, the council says that will allow them to help those who are not able to do it online.
