ROYAL Wootton Bassett Town Council have been confirmed as the sole trustee of the Memorial Hall.
The hall in Station Road is run for the benefit of community groups but it has been closed since March due to Covid-19 restrictions and it is currently being used by the NHS for clinics only.
The chairman of the revenue and resources committee councillor Steve Bucknell said: "this is a great step forward for us and we are already looking at making some improvements to the hall and to potentially recruitment a Caretaker."
The hall is very popular in the town and had previously been run by volunteers who have now handed it to the town council which will host events and activities.
