A MAN will stand trial over an allegation he tried to rob a chicken shop delivery driver of £72-worth of food and his car keys.
Appearing before Swindon Crown Court yesterday, Aaron Penfold, 21, of Dewsbury, Kirklees, pleaded not guilty to a single count of attempted robbery.
Prosecutors claim he and others tried to rob a Chicken Cottage delivery driver outside St Ives Court, Nythe, on December 7 last year.
Judge Peter Crabtree bailed Penfold for the trial on April 28. His bail conditions specify he must live and sleep at his home address.
The Crown Prosecution Service was represented by Mark Ashley. Tony Bignall appeared for the defendant.
