A STRATTON man will be sentenced after he admitted dealing cannabis – two years ago.

Appearing before Swindon Crown Court on Friday morning, Aaron Cooper, 26, of Shakespeare Path, Stratton St Margaret, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis between May and July 2019.

Rob Ross, Cooper’s advocate, told the court his client had just one previous conviction.

Ordering a pre-sentence report, Judge Peter Crabtree said: “You’ve admitted committing a serious offence here as you will well appreciate the starting point is undoubtedly custody, but you’ve been out of trouble for some time and you get credit from me for pleading guilty today.”

The judge added he was making no promises as to the likely sentence Cooper would receive.

He was granted unconditional bail to return to court for sentence on March 29.

David Scutt appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service.
