A HEAT map shows the areas of Swindon hit hardest by Covid-19, and whether the number of new cases in each part is rising or falling.

Central Swindon North has the highest number of cases with 38 confirmed in the seven days leading up to February 22, this is 28 more than the week before. The infection rate is at 359.7 cases per 100,000 population, the highest in Swindon.

The lowest infection rate in and around the town was found in Royal Wootton Bassett which boasted a rate of 39.9 per 100,000.

Most areas saw a rise in cases with the biggest rise coming in Central North Swindon with 28 new Covid cases confirmed. 

The area with the biggest drop in cases was Wroughton, Wichelstowe and Chiseldon which saw nine cases less but still had 11 confirmed in the area. Its rate of infection also stands at 92.7 per 100,000.

Three areas in the town had no data to show (marked white on the map) meaning there were fewer than three cases in the area. This included Lawn and East Wichel, Roughmoor and Freshbrook North and Grange Park.

The map uses government data to visualise the number of new cases confirmed in the seven days leading up to February 22, the difference from the previous week's figures, and the rolling seven-day infection rate of cases per 100,000 population.
