Three teenagers were arrested - with the help of a police dog - after windows of two HGVs were smashed by cones thrown from a bridge.

Police were called to a bridge over the A419 in Dorcan at 10.45pm last night after three people were seen throwing traffic cones into the road. 

More calls were made from two HGV drivers saying their windscreens had been smashed after the objects had been thrown at their vehicles.

Suspects were seen running along the A419 in the direction of the Great Western Hospital. 

Three teenagers were arrested shortly afterwards, with the assistance of a Wiltshire Police Dog unit and PD Bree, on suspicion of causing criminal damage and criminal damage with intent to endanger life.
