A BANNED driver was warned not to get in the driver’s seat or “to prison you will go”.
Ryan Hammond, 23, was caught behind the wheel of a VW Golf in Frobisher Drive, Walcot, on July 4 last year.
He candidly told the police officer that stopped him he’d been disqualified from driving and was driving the Golf without insurance.
Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court this week, Hammond, of Malmesbury Gardens, Park North, pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.
District Judge Joanna Dickens bailed Hammond to return to court on March 19 for sentence.
She said: “If there is any more driving whilst disqualified between now and the next [hearing] you can just take your toothbrush into court because you’re going straight to prison.”
The judge pushed the point home at the end of the hearing, telling Hammond: “If you do any more driving whilst disqualified between now and the next hearing to prison you will go.”
