Adver readers are divided over Oprah Winfrey's bombshell interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Aired on ITV on Monday evening, the couple discussed at length racial and mental health issues that arose from their time as working royals before leaving their roles amid huge controversy early last year.

It included the claim that an unnamed royal asked how dark their son Archie’s skin would be.

After the interview aired, we asked our Facebook followers whether their opinions on the Royal Family had changed and received hundreds of responses.

Here are just some of them...

Roderick Bluh: “Two people who left because of media and wanting privacy do an Oprah interview and guess what? A media frenzy.

“The interview does damage and achieves nothing. Family issues should be dealt within family and in private.

“The Queen does not deserve this, especially now. I’m sure it isn’t easy to abide by the rules and the protocols but that’s the business.

“If you don’t like it, don’t join it. They’ve left, they have made choice.

“Time to have their privacy and say no more. They’ve said enough.”

Rachel E M Powell: “They weren’t slating the royals as such, more the institution – but at the same time well done Harry and Meghan for getting away from the institution and going it alone.

“Breaking the cycle so his own son doesn’t suffer like Diana.”

Michelle Giles: “I’m very disappointed that they seem to have not learnt a single thing from the Diana years.”

Elaine Scott: “Why should we pay for his protection when he is no longer a working member of the royal family?

“It’s all very sad but they decided to go and I hope they have a wonderful future and family rifts heal.”

Vincenza Vitale Bretti: “I have always liked Harry, good for him for looking after his wife’s mental wellbeing.

“And shame on the media for not telling the truth about who made who cry.

“It was Meghan’s wedding and she was under so much pressure and heartache. She should have had support at a time when she needed it.”

John Edwards: “I support them even more now, I think Meghan and Harry should get on with their own lives and leave the royal family to their own lives.”

Ray Gregory: “Sorry, we are in the midst of a pandemic which has far more serious consequences on our life. Why should I be worried about a group of overprivileged folk like these?”

Annie Varley: “Love the royal family. The Queen is a great example to us all, hard work, sense of duty and loyalty.

“How many 94 year olds do you know who still carry out engagements?

“People who don’t want a monarchy should leave and live in a republic.

“I think we are so lucky to have them. Just think if you get rid of them you could end up with someone like Trump.”

Karen Peapell: “I was against Megan but not now."

Susan Ann Griffin-Oram: “I think the royals are all trapped by the establishment that runs them all and none of them have the freedom to live their lives as they would like.

“I think as a family they are normal. I support them all and feel sorry for what they go through.”

Betty Ruck: "My mum worked at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle for over 20 years. I don’t know what she would think of what Harry and Meghan are doing to the monarchy, I hope they are proud of themselves.

Gill Papi: Harry and Meghan need to stay in USA and get on with their lives in private... like they keep saying they want to!

Clair Cowan: “The monarchy are what makes our nation great, proud to be British. No family is perfect.

“Do they have to look at changing some things? I would say yes. But we all make mistakes, we all should learn and grow from them.

“I just think Harry and Megan have gone the wrong way about things.

“And if someone is actually being racist then don’t tell half a story, make them accountable.”
