A SENTENCING date has been fixed for a pair of burglars who attempted “to do over” a Swindon drugs line.
Lee Fitchett, 38, was found guilty last week of aggravated burglary. Together with Callum Sherry, 31, he barged his way into a block of bedsit flats in Sheppard Street in the early hours of November 19, 2019.
Jurors at Swindon Crown Court heard the men had planned to rob the Brandy drugs line of drugs and cash.
When they couldn’t get into the room said to have been cuckooed by the line, they made their way into a neighbouring bedsit. Fitchett demanded the occupant “strip and squat”. After they couldn’t get any cash or drugs, Fitchett began stuffing clothes into bags while Sherry swiped a bottle of whiskey on the way out.
Sherry, of Spruce Court, had earlier pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary. The men will be sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on May 28 at Swindon Crown Court.
