Four worthy causes were invited to Morrisons in Haydon Wick to be given free seeds and gardening materials as part of a project to spread hope and happiness in the pandemic.
The supermarket chain is running a national Seeds of Hope campaign where they are giving 2.5 million sunflower seeds to customers to 'make good things happen'.
But special invites went to TWIGS Community Gardens, Gorse Hill Stepping Stones project, Tadpole Garden Village in Bloom and Haydon Leigh School.
These worthy causes were invited to Haydon Wick Morrisons on Wednesday to take home free packs of seeds and gardening materials.
Simon Raisey, the store’s community champion, said: "All those invited are looking forward to 'making something good happen'."
He is also running a Little Sunshine award for young people in the area: "The Little Sunshine award is again part of the Seeds of Hope campaign - we are looking for a young person in the local community who has achieved something amazing in light of the pandemic."
He is inviting young people in and around Haydon Wick who have played a part in supporting the community in the pandemic to visit the store to find out more.
