A VIOLENT street fight left one man injured and bloodstains strewn along the road.
Police officers were called at around 10pm last night and cordoned off Hunters Grove until this morning.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and is currently in custody.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We were called by a member of the public who witnessed an altercation between two men during which one of the men was injured.”
Residents woke up this morning to a street covered with dried blood.
Jon Waite, who has been living in the area for around 25 years, witnessed the incident.
He told the Adver: “My boy heard a lot of commotion, there was a fight out there. He watched it and came downstairs, and he said someone has just been knifed out there.
“There were three guys out here and two were fighting. One of them was hurt, he was holding his wrist.
“We all came out here, and the attacker went back into his van and drove off. My boy remembered the plate, so the police were called, and they came out, we’ve given them the number plate and we’ve given them a description.
“And then the man just drove past, officers jumped in the police car, followed it, pulled the car over and got him.”
