THE Town Gardens Café opens today as the new tenants gear up to serve the community.

Best friends, BBC Radio presenter Marie Kilford and hospitality manager Frances Tucker are keen for customers to come and try the local produce they have on offer.

Yesterday, the café had a soft opening ahead of the big open day today.

Frances said: “It’s been really good so far with some super lovely customers and it’s been a great morning.

Marie added: “People are looking forward to it being open and we have met lovely family members and dog walkers.”

The café has been under refurbishment since its closure last month. But the tenants have the keys with local staff hired and lots of delicious food and treats on the menu.

Frances said: “We’re really excited to be here and have been working hard this week to get it ready so we’re keen to be open and have customers.”

“We’re looking for feedback from people and we’ve had some already with the coffee being too hot or too cool so we can serve what people want.”

It will be open seven days a week, from 8 am on the weekdays and 9 am on weekends.

Marie added: “People are excited to have us here and get a real coffee particularly on the school run and in the mornings.”

“We’re looking forward to meeting people so if you’re enjoying the park and all its beauty come and see us. The gardeners are doing an amazing job and it looks amazing. It’s the best place in Swindon so come out and see us and visit the park.”
