A mum who lost her baby will take part in the Butterfly Bimble walk to remember her and raise money for the hospice that took care of them.

Holly and Jason Coe from Swindon lost little Jasmine in 2015 when she was four days old, after she suffered a perinatal stroke in the womb.

They spent their last days with Jasmine at children’s hospice Helen & Douglas House, and stayed another five days after her death.

The Butterfly Bimble walk on May 23 is organised by the hospice for people to remember the life of someone they have lost and to fundraise to support its work.

The walk is 4km through the grounds of Blenheim Palace.

Holly will take part with her parents and two of her three boys, Ashton, 4, and 6-month-old Grayson.

Holly and Jason say the hospice helped them through their grief and they have since raised a massive £16,000 for the hospice through different fundraisers.

Jason raised £7,500 taking part in the Ironman Triathlon in 2017, Holly and her friend Nicola Davis raised £4,800 in 2018 and in 2019 Holly did a skydive on Mother’s Day in memory of Jasmine, raising more than £2,000.

Holly says, “When we lost Jasmine my husband and I wanted to raise money in her name, so her legacy can live on so we can thank the people at Helen & Douglas House.

“They helped us during our darkest time. We were able to spend the last hours we had with Jasmine in the hospice and make some precious memories together.

“They continued to support us through bereavement counselling and general help and guidance for years after Jasmine died and are still available to us whenever we need them now.

“I’s important that we help to give back to them and show our support in any way we can.

“Doing this walk to remember our Jasmine and knowing other families who have been through similar will be doing the same brings some form of comfort."

Julia Woodcock from the hospice says, “We have had a wonderful response to this event with over 180 people already signed up, including many families we care for.

"The money raised will help local families get through a difficult time.

"We would also like to say a massive thank you to Holly and her family for raising so much money for our charity over the years."
