FIVE new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Swindon.
In the last seven days, there have been 61 new positive Covid-19 test results recorded in the borough, which is 10 fewer than the week before.
Swindon's rate of infection as of April 30 was 35.6 cases per 100,000 population.
The government said a further 27 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Wednesday, bringing the UK total to 127,570.
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The government added that, as of 9am on Wednesday, there had been a further 2,144 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.
This brings the total to 4,425,940 cases recorded since the pandemic began.
