ONLY three new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Swindon within 24 hours.
In the last seven days, there have been 52 positive Covid-19 test results recorded in the borough, which is 22 fewer than the week before. This is a drop of 29.7 per cent.
The latest available infection rate statistics are for May 1. At that time, Swindon had 33.8 cases per 100,000 population.
The government said a further 13 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Thursday, bringing the UK total to 127,583.
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The government added that, as of 9am on Thursday, there had been a further 2,613 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.
