An alleged co-founder of banned neo-Nazi group National Action is to go on trial in November charged with terror offences.

Ben Raymond is accused of being a member of the far-right organisation after it was outlawed in the UK in December 2016.

The 32-year-old will stand trial at Bristol Crown Court.

He appeared via video-link at the Old Bailey on Friday for a short hearing during which he spoke only to confirm his name and that he lives in Swindon.

He was released on continuing bail, with a single condition that he must reside at an address in Beechcroft Road in the town.

Raymond faces four charges, including membership of a proscribed organisation contrary to Section 11 of the Terrorism Act between December 17 2016 and September 27 2017, and three counts of possessing material likely to be useful for terrorism under Section 58 of the Act.

According to the charges, the material includes documents entitled “pipe hand grenade”, “cluster bomb” and “homemade Molotov cocktail”.

Another was entitled “How to start and train a militia unit”.

Raymond is due to appear at Bristol Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 17.

His trial, estimated to last three to four weeks, is due to begin on November 1.
