THE Nepalese Association of Wiltshire stepped in to help clean up dumped rubbish in Swindon.

Members gathered at Buckhurst Community Centre along with councillors from South Swindon Parish Council to help pick up litter.

Members tidied grotspots around Walcot, Park North, Park South, and Nythe.

Jum ‘JB’ Gurung of the Nepalese Association of Wiltshire said: “We do many litter picks because we want to do something in the community.

"Everyone managed to collect lots of bags. But in everything we do, we always go for it and try to help people who are most in need.

“It was worth giving up a Saturday for the community. We intend to cover most of the area because within this association we can help and it’s what we enjoying doing – serving our communities.”

In the past year, the group, which helps families across Swindon and Wiltshire, has been busy supporting homeless people, serving Nepalese celebration food and helping GWH staff by donating £10,000 to the Brighter Futures charity.
