A ROBBER attacked a woman in an alleyway in broad daylight before making off with her handbag.

The victim was walking home from the town centre in Broadgreen on Thursday at 1.50pm when the attack happened.

She was followed into an alleyway near Graham Street, where her attacker ripped her handbag from her arm and caused her to fall to the floor, leaving her with cuts and bruises.

The robber then ran off in the direction of Fleming Way.

Police have now released a CCTV image as part of their investigation, but with a warning that the suspect shouldn’t be approached.

The man they want to speak to is described as white, likely to be over 6ft tall, with brown, short hair, wearing a grey, short-sleeve top, black trousers, either wearing or carrying a black jumper and a black facemask.
Police also believe he had distinctive tattoos down the side of his neck and on his arm.
