POLICE are continuing to investigate the old human remains found in a Swindon field near Junction 15 of the M4.
Forensic specialists have been combing through the ground along Meadow Way in Badbury Wick since around Wednesday.
There have been rumours of the remains being linked to killers like Christopher Halliwell or Glynn Razell but the force stressed that there is no evidence to suggest that at the moment.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman told the Adver: "We are awaiting results for the analysis of the non-recent human remains.
"The specialists will remain at the scene for at least another week.
"There is no suggestion at this point in time that there is any link in this investigation to high-profile cases, though we have to keep an open mind until proven otherwise."
Police and unmarked vehicles are parked along the roadside and access along the quiet lane is only permitted for those who live in the housing estate.
