A MAN was arrested on Penhill of suspicion of wounding with intent which resulted in another man suffering significant injuries and being taken to hospital.

Officers was called to a violent disorder at Corsham Road, Penhill at approximately 2pm on July 16.

Police treated a man at the scene in his 30s who had suffered injuries.

Despite the injuries being deemed by Wiltshire Police as significant, they are not thought to be life threatening.

He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

A separate man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent in relation to the incident and has been released on conditional bail.

It is not known at this time the motives behind the violent disorder. There is also no reports of anyone else being involved in the altercation at this time.

Wiltshire Police have offered a statement in relation to those who witnessed the disorder and would ask witnesses to come forward.
