Great Western Hospital has revealed some of the statistics behind the current wave of Covid-19 as cases continue to rise in Swindon and across the UK.
"We are experiencing an increase in COVID-19 patients needing hospital treatment," the hospital tweeted today.
"We want to encourage local people to continue to do all you can to slow the spread of infection, and to consider wearing a face mask in enclosed public areas."
The hospital revealed there are 18 confirmed and suspected patients in its care.
It also stated that Covid-19 cases in Swindon had risen by a whopping 80 per cent in just the last week.
Finally, GWH said it had created two dedicated Covid-19 areas and additional bed capacity to deal with the influx of new hospitalisations caused by the virus.
