SWINDON'S Cineworld cinemas will continue maintaining social distancing and other pandemic safety measures.
The chain's two branches will step in line with other cinemas nationwide to keep asking customers to stay two metres apart in the lobby and carry out other precautions like deep cleaning, plastic till screens and hand sanitiser stations.
The announcement comes as competing cinema chains removed all social distancing measures following ‘Freedom Day’ on Monday.
Guests have reacted positively to the decision on the chain’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
One user replied: “Brilliant news, a big well done and thank you for doing the right thing.”
Another added “With so many praising ‘Freedom Day’ it’s nice to see a company still taking precautions.”
During the heatwave, which saw temperatures soar to more than 30C, Cineworld reminded customers that its screens are air-conditioned and it sells frozen drinks, ice creams and milkshakes.
