Wildlife rescue centre RSPA Oak and Furrows has made a social media appeal for membrs of the public to donate any unwanted wet cat and dog meat to them, so that they use it to feed a group of baby hedgehogs that had been recently brought in to them.

The hedgehog nest was disturbed and sadly the hoglets' mother didn't make it so the centre will be hand rearing the new arrivals.

The centre made the appeal via their Facebook page

"Hi everyone, we are putting out an appeal for wet cat and dog meat, any flavour (we have a lot of animals who eat fish flavours too!) These little hoglets have just been brought to us after their nest was disturbed and mum sadly didn't make it. It will be a couple of weeks before they need the meat but plenty of our other patients do!

Any brand of wet cat and dog food is fine, we can use it all! "

RSPA Oak and Furrows relies on public donations and is always looking for people to donate money or bring in any unwanted bedding, sheets and towels for them to use to care for the animals they have at the centre.

The organisation is also looking for admin volunteers to help them with answering phone calls and greeting the public through the Summer busy season.
