A two car-crash which blocked the M4 close to Swindon has prompted a witness appeal.

Motorway cameras showed a grey BMW and a red Ford Focus collided with the central reservation on the westbound carriageway near Junction 15 yesterday morning, and one of the cars was overturned.

Nobody was seriously injured in the crash.

Wiltshire Police said this morning: "We are appealing for witnesses after a collision on the M4 near Swindon yesterday.

"The two-vehicle collision, which involved a grey BMW and a red Ford Focus, happened on the westbound carriageway, close to Junction 15, at around 11.25am yesterday (July 26).

"Thankfully nobody was seriously injured, but the driver of the Ford was taken to hospital as a precaution due to shoulder, neck and back pain.

"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw either vehicle shortly beforehand.

"We’re particularly keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage which could assist our enquiries.

"Please call PC Daniel Laurie, from Wiltshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit, on 101, quoting reference 54210072442."
