Ms Boase said: “The Joint Committee of on Vaccination and Immunisation has advised that pregnant women should be offered the Covid-19 vaccine at the same time as people of the same age or risk group.
“In the USA, around 90,000 pregnant women have been vaccinated mainly with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and no safety concerns have been identified.”
GWH endorsed both vaccines for pregnant women, with Pfizer being available at the hospital.
Ms Boase also spoke about concerns over the Covid jab and fertility.
She said: “For those of you who are trying to conceive or if you are worried about how the vaccine may impact fertility, I want to reassure you that there is no evidence that Covid-19 vaccines have any impact on febrility or your chances of becoming pregnant.”
